About the project

Abyss is a crypto trade app for iOS aimed at both newbies and professional traders. Its ease of use, intuitive layout, and captivating visuals make the application a perfect companion for financial endeavors, as it doesn’t require industry-specific knowledge.

To facilitate an easy-to-grasp mobile app design, the app features numerous integrations and automations. They range from purchasing an entire portfolio to getting a robotic advisor that provides suggestions on trading actions.

Mission

Most people consider crypto trading a very complex sphere filled with potential dangers and ambiguity, so they avoid it. Our mission was to eliminate those prejudices and empower users with the confidence to give it a try with the help of the Abyss. This feeling would give them the courage to take control of their finances and continue leveraging new possibilities.

Design philosophy

The overall design reflects the power and elegance of the cryptocurrency market. The Abyss branding takes inspiration from nature, futurism, and premium-quality products. A pinch of experimental tech elements gives the identity system unique visuals that stand out among competitors and attract users' attention.

At the same time, we kept the design approachable, as the app is aimed at both beginners and professionals. It’s clean, easy to grasp, and memorable.

Identity system

Following the design philosophy, we turned our vision into a comprehensive style guide, consisting of different application variants and extensive descriptions for every element. It allows Abyss to keep all branding materials consistent and add new elements easily.

Fonts & colors

A combination of abyss black, deep blue, and chrome white represents confidence, power, and safety the branding guide for a crypto trade app needed. These emotions help users focus and make informed decisions. The fonts we picked also have meaning.

Reservation Wide is coarse and simple, perfect for titles and headlines. While Heebo is a low-contrast geometric sans serif font, designed for smaller text sizes.

The logo emanates power with its bold silhouette and smooth shapes. They keep the eyes grounded, giving a sense of steadiness. Looking like a futuristic glyph, the logo resembles the A letter.

To showcase how branding will look in real life, we’ve also designed some merch. This way, we illustrate the logo's adaptability across numerous products, ensuring that the design works effectively in a variety of situations.

We took the approach of designing the flow incuding instrument selection, tuning specification, and switching between two types of tuners.

UI/UX design

We started with in-depth research on the target audience’s problems and competitive landscape. This approach allows us to focus on features and functionality, forging a pleasant user experience.

After the research, we use wireframes to build an interactive prototype that takes a user through the main steps. It helps us test different hypotheses during the early stages before high-fidelity design and crypto app development come into play.
