Building a website for a Site Reliability Engineering service
Pillars is an outsourced SRE service developed by a web development agency to support its clients after the launch. 100% outsourced, remote, and reliable.

About the project
The Pillars brand is inspired by abstract technical complexity. However, since it’s not a SaaS but a human-operated and AI-backed service, the website we had to build did not imply a lot of user interaction. So it was our priority to create the experience that would be allow for information consumption without getting boring.
Mission
To give our friends at Pillars a powerful visual presence on the web. Promote the SRE culture, engage users in an interactive conversation about their business, and help them never experience downtime.

Design approach
The main challenge was to make the website informative on a subject that does not involve a lot of visuals and commonly known facts. To foster curiosity across the website, we decided to utilize the sci-fi brand visuals and ride the wave of abstract technical complexity.

Website design

Landing page
We structured the design to be graphic-heavy on top to minimize textual information and as we gradually move towards the bottom, more detail and technical information comes into play.

Get in touch
The form is one of the two CTAs available across the website. It’s important to measure the amount of cognitive load we put on a user when designing interactive elements. Often, this load correlates directly with the value of the actions required. In this case, the load was very low – if you want to increase your web platform stability, leave your email and we’ll get in touch. So to add context, we added annotations and also a small radio group to help us sort the requests better.

Mobile version
The mobile version benefited greatly from the graphics. We are used to dark interfaces on websites but it’s rare that you come across an off-black color that harmonizes with the tint of the illustration and makes the dynamic island on the latest iPhone models visible. Larger-than-usual buttons make the actions very clear without dominating the interface due to the robust graphics.

Webflow development
The website was developed rapidly on Webflow which means there are some cool animations that do not hinder performance but create a cool effect. Come check it out!

Identity system
The visual identity of the Pillars brand is based on columns that support the clients' businesses. Columns were introduced as the main graphic element.

Brand details
The cubic concept was inspired by sheer name of Lonely Walls and spoke of rooms, shadows, lights, and frames. It naturally flowed into the realm of geometric abstract art and its derivatives.

Branding
In search for more depth and dimension, we also explored the subject of 3D shapes, intersection and interaction between various geometric forms.

Outcome
Pillars is our network company’s venture and a brand we were able to craft from start to finish. Brand strategy, naming, followed by brand identity design, to presentation, to finally a website. On top, there are reports, merch, and lots of other cool stuff – the result of working with a team that can do it all.

Customer Testimonial
Other vendors said this project would be too difficult but Shakuro was able to pull it off.Michael GoryachkinProduct Owner
