About the project
TraderTale came to us with a platform where trading feels personal, building identity through your portfolio. We enhanced its visual design with refined colors and typography, preserving the original logic and game-like progression for a seamless experience.
Goals
Improve the interface with refined colors, typography, icons, and shadows to better visualize progress through levels and reputation, making it engaging and intuitive to encourage return and interaction.
Key challenges
Balancing rewarding yet credible game mechanics, simplifying financial data, and tying visuals to user behavior, we prioritized actions to keep data and interactions central.
Design approach
We made a clean, organized system for financial data and then added things that show growth and success on top of it. The end result is a platform that is both professional and fun.
Website design
Typography & colors
We chose Geist because it has a clean design and personality. It can handle dense data layouts while still making stats, levels, and rankings easy to read.. The color scheme is simple and planned, with each color having a clear job: some colors guide focus in data views, while others provide feedback during interactions.
Leaderboard
A hybrid of trading terminal and competitive ranking, the leaderboard scores users by consistency — not just profit. Hover previews, stats, and position changes add depth, while the clean layout keeps it all readable and focused on progress.
Alerts
A real-time feed of trades across the platform, designed for both discovery and analysis. Users can switch between a detailed card view for deeper context and a compact table view for quick scanning. Advanced filters let traders customize the feed by risk, status, performance, or strategy — turning alerts into a powerful research and engagement tool.
Detailed alert
A focused view that breaks down a single trade alert with full context — chart, metrics, rationale, and risk profile. Comments enable real-time discussion, blending analytics with community insight. Optimized for both desktop and mobile.
Create alert
A streamlined interface for publishing trade ideas. Users can set ticker, contract details, risk level, and duration — all in a few clicks. The form is optimized for fast input and encourages consistent, structured alerts across the platform.
User profile
A personalized space where traders can showcase their performance, trading style, and history. The dashboard combines portfolio highlights, advanced stats, and a radar chart for visual comparison — turning raw data into a profile of skill and consistency. Designed to be browsed, followed, and benchmarked.
Outcome
We built a dark-themed, responsive platform with clear data visualization, a game-like sense of progress, and a design system that works well together. The goal is to keep trading honest while also making it personal and interesting.
