Four Pi Capital: Independent financial analysis company
Four Pi Capital provides valuable investment research of enterprises, industries, and entire countries for financial advisors, high-net-worth individuals, and family offices.
About the project
An amalgamation of expertise, instinct, curiosity, and knowledge
Four Pi Capital is a company that stands on four pillars represented by four equal partners – credit and business research analysts, investment bankers, specialists in asset structuring and development of family offices. Together, they produce deep and insightful analysis of corporations’ future expectations bases on the geo-political, economic, and financial forecasts.
Mission
Help Four Pi Capital maintain the status of the leading provider of independent financial research by building strong online presence, designing recognizable and memorable brand identity system, and developing a set of premium brand collateral material.
Design Philosophy
Objective expertise without own interest attached
The focus of the design direction for Four Pi was its distancing from any private bank or brokerage house. Four Pi is a team of independent analysts serving the best interests of our private clients. This objectivity had to be palpable through identity and digital and physical assets.

Identity system development
We found a lot of inspiration in the company name and history. The foundation of the brand are the four partners, founders of the business. We wanted the logo to be reflective of that story. The audience represented by high-net-worth individuals and family offices also felt graphically distinct, so a lot of research went into that.
Final lockup
The final logo shape came to be after just a few simple sketch iterations. The logo represents four pillars with two main ones in the middle. The entire shape also represents a bar chart as part of a financial report. The symbol is accompanied by the serif-style font with thick lines and accents.
Style guide
Considering the rules of the financial industry and the impact visual identity has on the reputation of the brand in that space, it appeared important for us to create a bulletproof codex of brand usage.
Print media
The main value Four Pi Capital brings to its clients is knowledge in form of reports. Design-wise, this are documents but since their value is determined by the contents, we needed to find a way to incorporate that value in the sheer form of the printed media. We made a selection for texture-heavy papers, metal-infused ink, and unorthodox layouts.
Illustrations
Illustration is a big part of reports because they add context and help draw distinction between what could seem to be identical content. As mentioned above, the main value of Four Pi reports is the insights they deliver, so to actually dig it, you would need to read and process the information. An illustration is a good way to aid that perception before you even immerse yourself into to details.
Physical
A final piece to the puzzle was a set of brand collateral material that could be used with the digital media.
Website design
The Four Pi model did not involve and immediate digital product or service accessible via website. The website was more of a promotional tool and a way to shed light on their ways of operation, people, and policies. We have designed and developed a marketing website to highlight key metrics, areas of expertise, and philosophy of the brand.
Outcome
Four Pi Capital is one of those cases where the creative team vision aligned with the client’s expectation and feeling of the brand. What’s even more important is that the users tuned in too. The company has ever since gained new traction, launched a monthly paid analytical Digest [that we were proud to design too], and returned to us with a new impact investing project, which we may cover in one of our upcoming case studies.
