Bless You: Healthcare Platform for Better Patient Experiences
Bless You is a healthcare platform created by highly qualified doctors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for residents and tourists of the country.
Mission
Everyone deserves unhindered treatment and care, that’s why the main goal is to empower users with accessible healthcare by providing a reliable and easy-to-use platform. Leveraging digital services, people can connect with doctors and solve their health problems without leaving their homes or spending lots of money.
Key features
We first created the project in Arabic and later localized it into English to help the company reach the worldwide market in the future. So, unlike other digital healthcare platforms, Bless You is fully adapted to the Arabic audience and local regulations.
Goals
The main goal was to research, wireframe, prototype, test, and design a user-friendly interface suitable for the Arabic market. It should correspond to the local traditions and still provide a high level of customer service. At the same time, the Bless You app has to be accessible and easy to navigate for a wide range of users, including people with disabilities.
The challenge
During our collaboration with Bless You, we had to overcome several obstacles. For instance, work with Arabic interfaces, making sure the navigation flows naturally for RTL (right to left) reading. This affects button placement, icons, and navigation menus, as well as overall readability.
Since the design for healthcare app is primarily aimed at Arabic-speaking countries, we have to follow local regulations regarding data privacy, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). What’s more, the team needs to consider region-specific needs, which vary in terms of technology adoption, preferences, and connectivity. Not to mention cultural and religious differences from the western countries.
Stages of work
We begin with in-depth research, planning, and prototyping. After rigorous testing, we switch to building a responsive interface for the future healthcare platform.
Idea validation
Our process began with an in-depth exploration of Saudi Arabian healthcare's distinct characteristics, drawing comparisons with Western medical systems. This comprehensive study guided our initial ideation and set a solid foundation for the project.
Discovery
This phase integrated a thorough research. We carefully mapped of user profiles to fully grasp audience's behavior and designed stylescapes to guide the aesthetic direction of the platform.
Branding identity system design
Healthcare branding is a critical stage in the project, as it involves creating a visual identity that conveys the platform’s values, mission, and overall message to its target audience. It helps establish a strong and recognizable brand presence.
Wireframing
In the wireframing stage, we focus on user experience and functionality rather than aesthetics. By consciously excluding non-essential elements, we concentrate more on the platform's features and solidify user flow.
UI design
Once we finish prototyping, it is time to build the interface for the healthcare platform. To enhance users' engagement and help them solve their tasks, we opt for minimalistic styles, carefully position the elements, and choose fonts suitable for both European and Arabic scripts.
Identity system
Healthcare branding should infuse a sense of professionalism, confidence, personalization, and trust. These are must-have qualities we incorporate into the identity system. The app is aimed at residents and tourists of Saudi Arabia, so branding has familiar elements for both target groups.
Brand attributes
A functional geometric sans serif is ideal for products in any domain, especially medicine and healthcare platform. It’s equally convenient to use in both web and printing.
Inspiration & research
Before developing the identity system, we researched the target audience and potential competitors. This gives us insights into people’s main pain points, as well as solutions for them. As for inspiration, we based branding concepts on nature, simplicity, and minimalism. These ideas find a way into most hearts of the audience.
UI/UX design
People with health problems don’t have extra time to search for a solution. That’s why we build an easy-to-use and easy-to-navigate interface for the healthcare platform. There are no distractions or unnecessary aesthetics.
Arabic version
It's completely adapted for Arabic-speaking countries, including special fonts, careful placement of the elements, and RTL reading. We also pay close attention to privacy and law regulations specific to those locations and incorporate them into the app.
English localization
Since Bless You wants to enter the worldwide market, our team created the English localization. The design for healthcare here is more common, with the same focus on functionality, readability, and responsiveness.
